On October 26, 1974, Congress established Knife River Indian Villages National Historic Site. It is the only national park that is dedicated to preserving the lifeways of the Northern Plains Indians dating back 10,000 years ago.

The Knife River Indian Heritage Foundation is a charitable and non-profit 501(c)3 organization subject to tax deductible contribution status. The Foundation depends entirely on the generosity of private individuals, organizations and corporations to fund our organization. We want to invite you to join us at Knife River and help preserve American Indian history.

We want to tell the story of the Knife River Indian Villages and are inviting you to invest by becoming a Foundation member. Enjoy the satisfaction of knowing that you are helping to preserve the rich history of our treasured public land for the enjoyment of future generations.

If you would like to become involved and support our vital work, become a member and contribute today. Membership is for one-year. If you would like to volunteer services for events and projects, please contact us.
